Biostatistics
Provides advanced knowledge of statistical methods for medical research: correlations, linear and logistic regressions, ANOVA, survival analysis, ROC curves, and sample size calculations. Emphasis on interpreting results and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
Introduction to Medical Informatics
Introduces the field of medical informatics: biomedical information management, electronic health records, standards and interoperability, use of big data in clinical research, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and ethics. Focus on evaluating information systems and understanding future trends.
Epidemiology and Research Methods
Covers epidemiological measures of morbidity and mortality, principles of prevention, design of observational studies and clinical trials, biases and confounders, sample size calculations, and causal inference. Aims to develop critical understanding of research methodologies in public health.
Ethics in Healthcare
Covers Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles, including ethical considerations in clinical research, patient privacy, informed consent, and regulatory requirements. Includes dedicated tracks for social-behavioral research, clinical trials for drugs and devices, and international standards (ICH).
