STUDIES TOWARDS A DIPLOMA IN ORTHODONTICS –
 AND MASTER'S IN ORTHODONTICS

הלימודים מוכרים כחלק מהדרישות שנקבעו על ידי המועצה המדעית של ההסתדרות לרפואת שיניים לקבלת התואר מומחה באורתודונטיה. משך התכנית 31/2 שנים. בוגרי התכנית שיעמדו בדרישות התכנית יקבלו תעודה באורתודונטיה ומוסמך באורתודונטיה* ( *  לימודי מוסמך באורתודונטיה כפופים לאישור.  ). הלימודים העיונים הנם באנגלית.

פרטים בדבר ההתמחות, תנאי קבלה עלויות וכיו"ב ניתן לקבל במזכירות הסטודנטים ובאתר האינטרנט של המחלקה לאורתודנטיה. הכנס לאתר ביה"ס לרפואת שיניים (http://www.dental.tau.ac.il)  בחר מתוך המחלקות (Departments) את המחלקה לאורתודונטיה (Orthodontics).

מטרות התכנית:

  1. המתמחה יכיר ויבין את התפיסות החדשניות וההיסטוריות של נושא הגדילה וההתפתחות וקישורן לאבחנה אורתודונטית ותכנית הטיפול.
  2. המתמחה יהיה מסוגל לאבחן, לנתח ולתכנן טיפול לפתרון לקויי סגר אורתודונטים.
  3. המתמחה יכיר ויבין את התגובות הביולוגיות של רקמות חלל הפה לכוחות האורתודונטיים.
  4. המתמחה יבין את הכוחות האורתודונטיים, שימושם ומגבלותיהם.
  5. המתמחה יבין את קשר הגומלין בין אורתודונטיה ותחומים הנוגעים בה בנושאים דנטליים ורפואיים וידע לשלב תחומים נוספים בזמן תכנון וביצוע הטיפול האורתודונטי.
  6. המתמחה יבין את המבנה המכני של המיכשור האורתודונטי.
  7. המתמחה יקבל מיומנויות הנחוצות לבניית מכשירי הטיפול האורתודונטים.
  8. המתמחה יקבל כלים  להביא כל תכנית טיפול אורתודונטי לביצועה המושלם.
  9. התכנית תביא את המתמחה ליכולת הערכה וביקורת של מחקרים הקשורים לתחום האורתודונטיה.
  10. המתמחה  יטפל במספר נרחב של מתרפאים  אורתודונטיים ויהיה חייב להציג לפחות 10 מקרים שטופלו על ידו, ברמה גבוהה במרבית שלבי הטיפול האורתודונטי ועד לסיומם, כחלק מהדרישות לסיום התוכנית .
  11. על המתמחה לעמוד בהצלחה בבחינות הניתנות במהלך התכנית בסיום כל קורס וכל נושא לימודי ובבחינת הגמר בכתב ובע"פ בתום לימודיו.
  12. מתמחה שלא עמד בבחינה במועד א' ידרש לעמוד בבחינה במועד ב'. מתמחה שנכשל בשני מועדי בחינות הגמר בכתב או בע"פ תוארך התמחותו ב-1/2 שנה נוספת (ראה סעיף 19). 
  13. תופסק התמחותו של מתמחה שלא יעמוד בדרישות האקדמיות, הקליניות והמוסריות.
  14. על המתמחה להשלים את מחויבותיו המעבדתיות האורתודונטיות (ע"י הכנת תבניות לימוד, מכשירים קבועים וניידים, setup, מכשירי רטנציה וכו').
  15. המתמחה יבצע במהלך 31/2 השנים של התכנית את התקופות הזמן הבאות: 21/2 שנים במחלקת האם (אורתודונטיה), ½ שנה בלימודי יסוד, 3 חודשים ברפואת שיניים לילדים, 3 חודשים במקצוע בחירה. בחירת מחלקות הרוטציה חייבת להתבצע בהתאמה ובאישור ראש המחלקה לאורתודונטיה. מחלקת הרוטציה חייבת להיות מסונפת לביה"ס לרפואת שיניים, אוניברסיטת תל-אביב.
  16. לימודי ההתמחות באורתודונטיה הנם לקראת תעודה באורתודונטיה ותואר מוסמך* באורתודונטיה (m.s Orthod) (* לימודי מוסמך באורתודונטיה כפופים לאישור.  ) . בנוסף למעונינים קיים מסלול מורחב לקראת תואר מוסמך במדעים (mSc) או דוקטור בפילוסופיה (PhD).
  17. על המתמחה לפתוח "פנקס מתמחה" של הר"ש מייד עם תחילת ההתמחות ולהחתים אתראש המחלקה בפנקס. לאחר שהשלים את כל מחויבותיו כלפי מחלקות הרוטציה, כולל מחויבותו ל"מוסמך באורתודונטיה", תשלום שכר לימוד והחזרת ציוד מושאל, יחתוםראש המחלקה בפנקס המתמחה של הר"ש על השלמת דרישות ההתמחות.
  18. ההרשאה לגשת לבחינות מומחיות שלב א' ושלב ב' תתבצע בהתאם לדרישות המחלקה ודרישות המועצה המדעית.
  19. תלמיד שלא ישלים את מחויבותיו בתום ½ 3 השנים יהיה חייב בשכר לימוד שיחושב בחלקיות חודשית ע"פ שכר לימוד שנתי מלא.
  20. עלות ההתמחות הינה בהיקף של 350% (עפ"י חישוב של שכר לימוד שנתי 100%). לא ינתן פטור מתשלום לאנשים שקיבלו פטור מחלק מהתכנית ולבעלי תארים מתקדמים.
  21. תכנית הלימודים לתואר "מוסמך באורתודונטיה", הנה חלק אינטגראלי (בלתי נפרד) בלימודי התעודה באורתודונטיה * (*כפוף לאישור). בעלי תוארmsc  Ph.D פטורים ממחויבות למוסמך באורתודנטיה, אך אינם פטורים מעבודת מחקר ומתשלום מלא של שכר הלימוד.

DIPLOMA IN ORTHODONTICS AND MASTER'S IN ORTHODONTICS* 

FOR OVERSEAS DENTISTS

* Master's in Orthodontics is a subject to approval

Duration of Program:              Three and a half years

The International Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics is organized and intended for non-Israeli citizens holding a license to practice dentistry in their countries of origin.

The language of instruction is English. The program adheres to the guidelines of the European Erasmus Project and the Department is accredited by the Israeli Dental Scientific Council. Upon completion of the course of study's requirements, graduates are awarded a Diploma in Orthodontics and a Master's in Orthodontics.

Program objectives:

  1. The resident will become acquainted with the modern and traditional concepts of growth and development and its applicability to treatment planning.
  2. The resident will be able to analyze, diagnose, and formulate a treatment plan for orthodontic malocclusions.
  3. The resident will be acquainted with the tissues of the oral cavity's biological response to orthodontic forces, their uses and limitations.
  4. The resident will be taught the link between orthodontics and other dental and medical disciplines and will be able to take this into consideration when formulating and carrying out a treatment plan.
  5. The resident will be familiar with the technical construction and clinical uses of fixed and removable orthodontic appliances, set-up and retainers. 
  6. The resident will be able to assess literature and research material associated with orthodontics.
  7. The resident will treat a large variety of malocclusions.
  8. The resident will be required to pass examinations during and at the end of each course. As part of the requirements, residents will have to pass written and oral final exams. In case of failure, the resident will be required to re-take the exams. In case a resident fails the re-take exams, she/ he will be required to stay for an extra six months and re-take all failed exams. After this stage, there will be no re-take exams.
  9. Residents who do not meet the academic and ethical standards can be dismissed from the program at any stage.
  10. The resident will receive a Diploma in Orthodontics after the following conditions have been met:
    1. Completion of all clinical requirements
    2. Passing all examinations
    3. Completion and submission of the Master's thesis
    4. Return of all University owned equipment
    5. Settling of any unpaid debts
  11. Studies for a Master's in Orthodontics* (*Master's in Orthodontics is a subject to approvalare) an integral part of the program without which a diploma in Orthodontics will not be granted. The program also offers an additional track towards a MSc or PhD. Residents holding the MSc and/ or PhD degrees are exempt from submitting a thesis for a Master's in Orthodontics, but are required to carry out a research project.
  12. The combined PhD/ MSc & Orthodontics program requires the students to start the research and courses of the advanced degree at least 2 1/2 years before attending the Program in Orthodontics.
  13. The total amount of tuition for the program is 350% (on the basis of 100% per year). No exemptions for previous degrees and advanced studies are accepted.

A resident who has not completed the requirements within three and a half years will be required to provide monetary funding for any extended stay in the Department. Additional fees will be assessed according to a monthly charge
