מלכה איצקוביץ היא מורה בכירה, חוקרת וקלינאית. ההתמחות הקלינית שלה היא בתחום של מיגבלות פיזיות שונות, ובעיקר באנשים עם פגיעות בחוט השדרה. הניסיון הקליני הממושך שלה בטיפול באנשים עם פגיעות נוירולוגיות בביה"ח השיקומי לוינשטיין ברעננה תורם לעבודתה כמרצה וחוקרת בחוג לריפוי בעיסוק.

תחומי מחקר
מלכה איצקוביץ היא פעילה בפיתוח כלי איבחון והערכה. היא היתה שותפה בפיתוח האבחון להערכה קוגניטיבית LOTCA (Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment ), שנמצא עד היום בשימוש רב במחלקות לריפוי בעיסוק בעולם כולו. בעשרים השנים האחרונות מלכה שותפה בפיתוח הסולם להערכה תפקודית לנפגעי חוט שדרה SCIM (Spinal Cord Independence Measure). SCIM פותח במחלקה לנפגעי שדרה בבי"ח לוינשטיין, הוא תורגם לשפות רבות ומשמש יחידות ספינאליות ברחבי העולם למטרות קליניות ולמטרות מחקר.
